engine swap HELP

I just purchased a 1990 toyota truck with a blown 3.0l v6. I then bought a 88 forerunner for parts with a great running engine. I have the engine replaced and running but it idles real rough and seems to be flooding out when my foot is off the gas pedal. when I am on the gas seems to run well till I coast. when I switched engines I had to use the fuel rail off the 90 on the 88 engine because of the plugs for the injectors would this be a problem? I also have no check engine light period. any help would be great thanks.

thanks for your help. I have no idea what a vfm is or where its located. I have learned from reading other posts that my plunger in my tank may be stuck because my fuek gauge is reading backwards. it just seems to be flooding itself while idling. again thanks for your help
