cold start injector

I have found that my 22re cold start injector checks ok for 3.6 ohms, but will not spurt fuel when tested as per FSM. When I take it free of the fuel line, and run the same test the fuel line delivers the fuel . When I reconnect it to the fuel line it does not deliver the fuel when tested. Engine starts cold on 1st crank and all timing is good and it runs perfectly. Why would it atart cold with no problem if the CSI is not spurting fuel? I have cleaned it with the same results. The cold start time switch checks at 78 ohms cold which is in the proper range. Would these cause warm start problems?

What is the problem that you are trying to fix?

The fuel line to the CSI gets fuel all the time, it is connected to the fuel rail. And the cold start injector only works when cranking. The cold start time switch only works when the temp is below a certain temp, which I don't remember, maybe 65 degree F.

Assuming you have tested the CSI for leak under pressure?

If you are wondering if the CSI is causing you problem when warm, unplug it during warm start, if it doesn't leak, and if it is the cause, the starting should show a difference.

BTW, did you check the coolant temp sensor to make sure that it is within range?
