Long time since I posted, but I've been lurking...

Anyway, I finally decided the bench seat in my 89 2WD standard cab truck was just too uncomfortable. I was lucky to find two 4Runner SR5 buckets in the grey that matches my interior. I believe they were from a 2 door 4Runner as they tilt forward, as well as recline.They came from a low-mileage, non-smoking vehicle, and look damn nice.

Installation was sooooo easy! I did not have to drill any holes at all. The inboard front mounts lined up with holes in the raised rectangular stamping on the floor, but there is no threaded insert there. I got around this by epoxying a nut to a flat washer for each side, then epoxying this into the mount area. Careful not to get epoxy in the threaded part of the nut! I let it set overnight, then replaced the newly-washed carpet in the truck, and proceeded to mount the seats.

The rear mounts on the outside lined up perfectly, and on the inside of each seat, I simply used the seatbelt anchor threaded insert. I mounted the seat and the seatbelt inner sides to the same bolt. Except for the somewhat ratty looking seatbelt inner sides, it all looks like new from the factory.

A treat, and the seats are so way much more comfy than the old bench.

Just started working on putting mine in also....don't forget the center console if you can get one, makes it look oem. I put coverking neoprene covers on mine because I ocean kayak and always get in with a wet butt...

I have to wait until my sound dampening stuff comes in before I install and bolt down everything.

Those leather buckets look fabulous! What are they outta??

And yeah, I'm hoping to find a pickup console in the right colour, and when I do, that will finish the job. The 4 Runner consoles I've seen have a small cargo compartment, because it seems there was a rear seat heater in the console for the 4Runners.

If anyone has a grey pickup console for sale, lemme know, eh!

Yeah, those look comfy and with the little armrest are like captains chairs from a van.

You need to try and find a two compartment center console, the ones without the blower motor. They are really hard to find though, the manual leather boot thingy is even harder, at least here in southern california.

Sometimes you can find the console for around $80 US on ebay....and I've seen the brand new boot part for around $90. Don't worry about the color, just use dupli-color interior paint to match. The one you see above is painted charcoal grey. The one below is not painted and doesn't need to be, I found this one recently and couldn't pass up not picking it up from the yard for $17. But I'm not selling it, I'm thinking of picking up and restoring another 22re 4x4 pickup but with the extra-cab as another project.
