What's the difference?

What is the difference between the 22r, 22re and 3VZ-E engine? Is any one better than the other? I've seen a lot about 22r and 22re, but nothing about the 3VZ-E, which is what my 95 p/u has, and I was just wondering how is compared to the other two. If anyone has any websites or can provide me with some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

22r is a 2.4L 4cyl carburated motor, 22re is the same motor but fuel injected, 3VZ-E is a 3.0L 6cyl fuel injected motor. The 22r/22re's had problems with the timing chain guides, but thats about it for them. The 3VZ-E had recalls for a headgasket problem, but are an equally good motor. They are both motors that if taken care of, can easially last well over 200K miles. The 22re is the most common motors in these trucks, which is what is in mine. Followed by the 3VZ-E and on older trucks the 22r was primarially used.

here is a link for 22R/R-E http://toyotaperformance.com/4_cyl_tech.htm
I have a 22R-E as well great engine a dog on hills but still a great engine. As long as theres water in the rad and oil is changed when needed those engines will work forever.
