Hi,
I was googling a question, and found one of your VERY old forum posts that related exactly to what I was asking. I hope you still read the board and can answer this for me.
Several years ago, I swapped the instrument cluster in my 89 4X4 to the upgraded version with tach, oil pressure, volts, etc. It has always bothered me that everything works on the new cluster except the low fuel light. I know there is a different sending unit in the tank for the trucks that were originally equipped with this, and I have not swapped those out, so that explains why it does not work. My question to you is that if I decided to search for a new sending unit that has this feature, are the connectors the same? or would I have to jury-rig a separate wire from the tank top to the gauge cluster to make that low fuel light work? Thanks in advance if you know the answer!
