Loose Gear shifter on automatic 88

Hey Everyone,

I just bought a 1988 v6 EFI automatic extracab and am new to toyota's in general. The only immediate fix i can see is that the gear shifter is loose. Anyone know if I can tighten this, is it a serious problem, will it get worse, etc.

Also any information or things to look out for would be great, especially for a newbie like myself. I am super excited about my new truck and will post pictures soon.

Thanks!
