yea I did a junkyard twin turbo setup on a 89 5.0 mustang 2 years back and when i was doing the rebuild to my 4runner it was a constant battle to tell myself not to do it in the 4runner for nearly the same amount of money.

well you could just leave the damn motor alone because a 22r will last the longest and provide the most power, that motor was designed to work the best it ever will in that vehicle and thats that
a 22r will last the longest and provide the most power
Uh, ever driver a Toyota with a smallblock in it?? I've built trucks with both (built up 22R's and v8), and I would say the V8 has a bit more power than the 22R...I can smoke the tires on my dually in "drive". The engine will last a long time because it's not moving a lot of truck.
How about the 2.7ltr Tacoma 4cyl? Maybe you could tell us more about how your truck is setup now, stock, big tires, tired motor,etc...
With the cost of fuel, I won't feed a V-8. I like the reliability of the Toyota poweplants!
yea i would go with a 22r or maybe a tacoma 4 banger or v6 but not a v8 because its not made by toyota if you want somthing without a 4 banger or v6 why are you driving a toyota bub?
