I have done the cluster swap from a non-tach cluster to a tach cluster. It is not plug and play like some ebay auctions tell you. Does your oil pressure guage work? That is another difference on the clusters. Without tach just had a pressure switch (idiot light) and with tach has a pressure sender.
To get the tach to work, a wire MUST be run from coil (-) to connector A pin 5. If there is a wire there, you need to cut the wire and splice in from coil (or push out pin).
To get the fuel guage to work, on connector C pin 6 needs to be moved to pin location 5.
PM me with an email address if you have more

and I will send you what I have for documentation. I was going from 4runner to 4runner with ECT and there is alittle more involved on going to a tach cluster.
Mine is now fully operational except for the low fuel warning. The tach cluster did not have a warning window to display low fuel so I will setup my own.
It is a fun and useful project, but if done wrong can cause problems. I fried my oil pressure guage because on the swap, the back door unlock switch went to the oil pressure guage. It applied a short curcuit to the guage which sent the guage to max and started smoking the wire wound metallic.
