I need new seats for my truck, but I'm too cheap to buy new. What are some cars that have seats that will fit in my Xtra Cab 87 truck. Im probably gonna pull the seats from a used car or something. Thanks

Easiest thing to do is take some measurements of yours...and then run out to the local boneyard. They may not be direct bolt ins but easy enough to make them work. Ive put seats from a caddy in my 55 chevy PU, as well as a bunch of other swaps. If youre handy with fabricating some supports it wont be much of tough job. Or you might some decent cushions in the boneyard and be able to bolt them on to your exiasting frames.
i've seen honduh seats in there and a buddy of mine just installed a set of (i think) Corolla seats in one with the only mod being one wallowed-out hole. i'll call him to ask again.
I ended up with Acura Integra seats in my truck. Not sure what bolt pattern is exactly, but its the same slides in my Mom's 97 Accord. All I had to do to make them fit was get some L-brackets machined for the backs of the slides.
Thanks for the help guys, I will look around, hopefully I can find something to work.

i used honda del sol seats in my 94 2wd std cab. 3 of the holes were practicaly a direct bolt in, all i did was make a new hole in the seat bracket 1 inch from the original. the one in the front was a direct bolt in and the other front one i just drilled a new hole in the same mounting bracket that the other front bolt was in at an angle so i did not have to drill through the floor at all. took about 30 min for both and is easiy if you have a good drill and a sharp 1/2 inch metal bit. i reccomend removing the carpet or at least cutting it away before you drill anything. shur beats the bench seat and you sit way back and lower too. it has tons of leg room for the passenger. id like to see them in a ext cab.
I put in seats out of a 1990 Geo Storm GSi, I have a '93 Storm so they were in it until the I blew a head gasket. I used some square aluminum tubing to make brackets for them but if I had to do it over (which I will be) I would just bolt the slides to the stock front mount (in mine I have to drill one hole towards the tranny tunnel on both) and buy some solid aluminum stock and drill the back two holes thru the floor (already done on mine) as the the back of the seat needs to be about an inch off the floor for the slides to work. BTW my truck is an '87 Xtra cab two wheel drive
sorry i'm laggin' behind on this one, but the seats from a '91 chevy lumina are almost a direct bolt in. they are kind of a 60/40 type seat with the fold down arm rest as part of drivers side, however, the lumina brackets work fine (took me 30min. total install), they also look and sit like buckets - tip: when ya snag the seats pick up the spacers too...1"thick x 1 1/4"dia. approx. you'll need 'em ....
guluk player....
p.s. i put them seats in my '86 4x4 STANDARD CAB pickup sweet!
OMG do not use mustang LX seats. I just installed some out of an 86-ish mustang I had laying around.
the seats are very comfortable but are way too thick. Maybe good for somebody 5'10" or under but my head is about scraping on the ceiling of the truck.
