Highlander choices

I found the perfect fit for me ... the Highlander, but I'm torn between 2 options... a newer economical base model 4cyl or a used loaded 2001 Limited Edition. I don't have $47000 to buy a new loaded Ltd model but I love all the options the Ltd has (other than the 4WD that I don't really need on the coast). For $30,000 I could get a near new 4cyl 2WD or 4WD or a loaded 2001 Ltd with 60K in the colour I like.
The new 2004 2WD 4cyl gets amazing gas mileage and 5 more HP but none of those extras like the Ltd model... heated power seats, sunroof, JBL sterio etc. that I'd like.
I'm wondering if I'll find the 4 cyl model to underpowered, but I won't be carrying any heavy loads or more than 1 passenger.
Thoughts, experience, feedback welcome.

Why not get a well maintained pre-owned V6 AWD & save your self $$$$? Look for one with lower k's & still have factory warranty!

I own a certified 2003 V6 2wd in the color that I wanted that came with alloys(including the spare), stainless steel tube running boards, tinted and etched glass, etc... and it had 8300 mi. and I paid $21,900. It's not got ALL the factory extras but I plan on adding the systems that I want.
I prefer the V6 because I like having the power when I need it. I have no problems merging, passing, or heading into the mountains.

yeah, agreed
get the V6 AWD, it is worth the extra money. I havent driven the 4-cyl version since Aus doesnt have that avaliable, but i personally think it will have insufficent power to pull the load

we got a Kluger V6 AWD and it is great http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/424397/2

(the Kluger is the same as the Highlander, just different name )
