2002 Highlander V6 sludge problem

I had my car inspected for the sludging problem about a year ago. They took all of about 2 hours to check it out, I really thing the dealer probably just told me I didnt have it because they didn't want to give me a new engine. I just had an oil change done recently and the first thing they asked me after the oil change was; how long did you wait to get an oil change??? Your oil was full of sludge. I have 136k miles on the car and I've been running castrol synthetic blend 80% (regular or synthetic the rest of the time)of the time on 5k miles intervals with mostly highway miles. If I take it back to another dealer and tell them the oil is sludging will they be willing to take another look? what sorta % of people have been successful in getting a new engine? Thanks
Andrew

try taking it to another dealer. It is kinda a pain for the dealer to get all the paper work inline but a "good" dealer should want to do this for you. It is going to take a few days to get the engine rebuilt fyi.

The extended warranty regarding sludging issues does not apply to '02 models. Toyoya made a change in the engine design that according to them alleviated the sludging problem.

Why would anyone use Castrol...???

'Mainstream" BRANDED is the only oil I would use.

He did not say how long he has owned it but why should any engine sludge at 5k intervals regardless of oil/brands ?
