This offer on another Toyota forum (solaraguy.com) looks pretty interesting...

USA plug-and-play McCulloch install

Here's a link to an install instruction page -- looks pretty straightforward.

FYI -- this vendor sells Philips (not McCulloch) kits with good warranty. A bit more $$, but some say you get what you pay for.

Anyone with any experience with these folks and their kits ??

Thumbs up just installed LL Philips 9006 kit

Just installed the Philips 9006 HID kit from Jerry at Lava Lighting on my 05 Highlander... got it on a group buy that was setup on hidplanet.com forums

WOW... difference is literally like night and day. The OE halogen bulbs are NOT BAD, but HID really makes a big change.

Thanks Jerry for the great product.

Is there a nice cutoff line with the HID kit in your non-HID reflector housing? I think the kits use D2S HID bulbs...which will create alot of glare.

Got any pics of the beam pattern? I was thinking of doing the same.

dont buy McCulloch, its over-priced garbage. lifespan is usually about a year before parts malfunction or die.

if you want to get the best outa HID, dont buy a kit. build your own from OE components. you can get a complete OE set-up for half of what that McCulloch is going for. believe me, i just bought another set off ebay last week, a whole kit from an Infinity....bulbs, ballasts, everything, 160 shipped. you can get some projectors for under 200 if you look around, then you will have the same set-up that audis and s2000s, have.

if you do go with a kit, remember that its a really good idea to use a harness and not connect directly to the factory headlight harness'. if you dont, its a good chance you will fry something in the future. HIDs do use less power when running, but at start-up they take a ton of juice

I currently run on a kit I bought off of ebay for 288 dollars. Comes with rebased 4300k bulbs and Koito/Denso ballast. The kit is great, and the ballast actually says toyota on it.

Installation look about 15 minutes.
