2005 Highlander Tire Pressure

Hey, i appologize in advanced if this has been posted. a simple search didnt lead me to find what i wanted.

My highlander came with crappy tires...some Toyo thing.... but the pressure in them seemed quite low (30 psi). and the front tires looked like they were almost riding on the walls. The tires say max 44psi. i know i dont need to pump to max but i pumped them to about 38psi as a compromise. Now at least the cornering feels a tad better and it doesnt look like its riding on the walls.

While washing my car i noticed on the driver door sill that there are tire pressure recommendations. They stated 30psi...so what am i to do? i dont want a blowout or anything to happen. Keep in mind that usully only one person drives it with no cargo. At most 4 ppl with minimum luggage/groceries.

Thanks for any and all advice you guys can offer! I LOVE THIS PLACE!
