Stripped O2 Sensor again?

A year and half ago, I replaced bank 2 O2 and it stripped in the exhaust manifold, so I had to replace the manifold. I did some research and found that that it happens sometimes.

So I went to do bank 1 sensor, today. Knowing that the O2 sensor sometimes strips, I soak it with penetrating oil and used heat on the sensor before attempting to remove it (which I didn't do either last time)

The Damn O2 stripped again, WTF. This is ridiculous that I have to replace both exhaust because of the O2 sensors. I am tired of this crap.

Should I leave the old malfunctioning O2 unplugged or plugged in while I wait for parts? The engine runs lean with the old one until it runs for a while, then it works.

Haven't tried unplugging either S1 sensor. Would guess ECU will run mapped A/F values and probably use B1S2 to keep ratios close to normal for the affected bank.

My B1S1 has a dead heater which means it doesn't work until I begin to cruise and it gets hot enough from exhaust to begin reporting. Pretty minimal effect on drivability and zero effect on mileage.
