I've heard of a rumor that the Rav4 will get discontinued after 2004. Toyota has not offically admitted to the rumor yet.

Unhappy

Toyota is discontinuing the RAV4 model to make room for a new SUV. I’m almost sure that either this year or next year will be the last years that Toyota manufactures the RAV4 model. Toyota has not made official news to the public but they are currently in the works in designing the new SUV model. When they will make the official announcement I am not sure.

thanks for the reply guys. So sounds like there will be a new model in 2005!?!

then is it worth it to buy a 2004 RAV4 now? I would like to see if there's any concept design for the new replacement model.....

It's not suprising if they do discontinue it.

The reason why RAV4 existed was that people want fuel efficient SUVs.

But then now we get wagon/SUV hybird a.k.a. Matrix & PT Cruiser to take its place.
