Rav4 buying question...

I just started looking into buying Rav4 (2004, 4x2 base model with automatic) and I'm wondering how much should one pay for the car?

If anyone with the car can help me by letting me know how much you paid (with what option/model and what region?), I would appreciate it!

try going to different dealerships from within ur area...and do a cost comparision with their prices....its much easier to try to bargain for a better price if the sales person sees that ur an educated consumer.....just drop by...and casually look around....most new cars will have their msrp listed somewhere for u to see.....

The best deal I could find so far is 195k (with $500 delivery charge) for base automatic with Option Combination #A ($640) which cpme with the following...
- 50 state emissions
- Daytime running lights system
- Front & rear mudguards
- Keyless entry w/3-button remote & confirmation tone
- Removable/non-retractable tonneau cover
- Roof rack w/center rails

Does it sound reasonable? I did a resead on the web and it said the dealer invoice is only $15,377 (Retail Price: $16,625) but when i visited a dealer, it MSRP was shown as 195k...

Yeah, $19,500 for a base 4X2 RAV4 sounds about right for MSRP, but remember, you never want to pay MSRP. You want to target the invoice price.

My family purchased a 2003 RAV4 last summer at around invoice price. I believe that the MSRP was about $24,500, but b/c one of our local toyota dealers was having a remodeling sale, we were able to purchase a 2003 RAV4 Sport AWD for about $21,500 (which was several hundred dollars below invoice).
the options were:

Sport Package: Sport Grill, Hood Scoop, Sport Fabric, Overfenders, Cruise Control, AM/FM/Cass/CD With 6 Speakers, Power Windows/Door Locks/Mirrors, Air Conditioner, Floor Mats, Tubuler Roof Rack, "S" Badge, Carpeted Floor Mats, & Cargo Mat.

- 50 State Emissions
- Keyless Entry
- Power Moonroof
- Privacy Glass (Rear)
- Rear Spoiler


Look at www.edmunds.com for more info about pricing on the RAV4. Ideally, I think for the model you're looking, invoice should be around $17,500.
