Upsized oil filter for RAV4

Hello all,

Has anyone found an "upsized" oil filter that would fit a 2005 2.4L RAV4?

I would prefer something a bit bigger than the tiny little "soupcan" sized stock filter to do my own oil changes.

Thanks all!

Good idea.

I noticed that the RAV4 filter appears to be the upsized Corolla filter. But I haven't noticed anything larger for our 2.4L engines.

I am sure there is something out there that is larger or most likely just a bit longer.

I have a 05 echo, 05 corolla and 02 rav4, and they all use the same tiny oil filter.
One size fits all, isn't that great?

(trading in the corolla for the rav4 because of the warm engine starting problem)

why would you want an "upsized filter" for your Rav4? Both the F1 and F2 Toyota filters will work on it

I installed a larger oil and gear box cooler from Derale. When I did I notice that the RAV4 filter was too small for the aluminum hose adapter. So I just installed a Toyota V6 filter and it work fine. No leaks and more oil capacity.

Well, Toyota has two filters. A little one and a slightly larger one. The slightly larger filter is what I use. Or just go to your Toyota dealer and ask for the Toyota V6/Larger filter.
