Canada Poll whats your fuel economy???

Hi all

I have been checking my mileage lately and its dissapointing at best, but I thought I better compare with the other owners and see where the mileage should be. I probably have the worst of the worst a non s/c awd! and the last check puts me at 20 miles per imperial gal!!!

So lets hear what kinda mileage the rest of you are getting??

On a recent trip at 60mph I averaged 25+ miles per canadian gallon, winter driving. I figure this is because I kept the speed low and I just cleaned out the throttle body. Last year I would use more gas even in the summer. 2 of the 4 vaccuum ports were blocked. This caused the fuel pressure regulator to operate at a higher pressure causing high gas consumption and higher emmissions.

Unhappy

Im only getting 10M/gallon. Can someone give me an insight why this could be happening? My previa is a 92 non-supercharged model. My exhaust smells bad like unburned gasoline and I just inspected my new spark plugs and found carbon deposits on them just after 500kM. Could this be related and what fix could I make?

rgrds.

Clean your Throttle body. Make sure all your vacuum ports and hoses are clear and working with no leaks. Make sure your air filter is clean. Check the ignition timing. And hopefully your fuelinjectors are not leaking.

22 MPG (US); '91 DX RWD Previa (auto tranny). Mileage went down from 24 MPG when I upgraded to sportier tires on my new wheels. Oh, well...I'll take the handling improvement anyday.

C

26-29 MPG Sparky55? Are you serious? Man, that's amazing. I've never seen over 25 on mine, even with a tailwind .

We have 2 Previas, a 91 and a 93, both 2wd non s/c (the 91 isn't driven anymore tho).

Both of them have gotten 22-24 on the highway and 18-20 in the city. My dad tows a 3500 pound boat (includes trailor wieght) and reports 12-14 with that...not too bad considering its pushing the van to its limits.

I have a 2002 previa 2.4 cdx which manages around 22mpg urban.

Costs me around £50 to fill and i get around 280-300 miles out of it depending on how the car is driven.

Sweeeeet !

I bought my first Previa new in 1992. Although it runs great, Illinois winter salt left the body a rust-bucket. I purchased a sweet rust-free 1994 Previa in Raleigh NC. On the highway drive back to Illinois I averaged 25 mpg.
