rear end, supercharger...

I have seen a few posts touch on these issues but no real answers to either. Can you "bolt on" a factory supercharger to a non super engine(92 previa)? Is there a rear end for the Previa that is a LSD? I read that this van uses the rear end from a Tacoma if so can I swap in a LSD from that vehicle?

You should be able to swap the rear ends, make sure that the number of teeth matches up. I have never read that the SC can be installed on a non SC, but i would think it is doable with enough time and money.

supercharging the non-supercharged

i've haven't seen any successful bolt on supercharges on the non supercharged previas

but if you'd like to work on it, please take the following into consideration:

1) 12V magnetich clutch pulley

2) supercharger/computer control module

3) intercooler

4) front bumper (lower left opening)

5) intake manifold

6) fuel system

7) space, room, & $$$$

I have ask tht kind of question before....swapping SC into non-SC prevy...the conclusion is that it already being a long time (even with the last yr of prodution 97 untl now..it almost 10 yrs.)...and with all the parts and all the labor involve...the price might get even out with what the value of the car is...i ask several car mechanic....they all say it a big job to do..they all suggested if really want to get a SC it better off to just go out and buy a stock SC equip previa instead of the swapping..

you would end up changing just about everything, toyota put oil cooled pistons, changed the compression, engine control computer, etc. so you would have to put in a supercharged engine as well if you wanted it to be as reliable as from the factory, several things would have to be changed around including the battery location, but yes if you have money you can do it,it would just cost quite a bit,not sure if it could be done on a 5speed probably if when you switched engines you put the 5speed flywheel on the supercharged engine, not sure if it'd work or not,the engine control might not standalone, but if you have money you can make anything work, lol, just my two cents
