Engine/trans rebuild in Hawaii

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for a total rebuild on a stock Previa engine and possibly the trans. I know this is the same engine as in the MR2. There has to be lots of nice performance parts out there. Not looking to build a race motor (I'm in the Navy and have 3 Kids) Just something that (hopefully) pulls much better than stock with around the same gas milage. Any Toyota Enthusiasts here on Oahu? Aloha Mike Z

I don't think it has the exact same engine. I know that it shares the same super charger. There are not that many performance parts for the Previa, but you could do a custom exhaust, different rear end (shares the same rear end as the Tacoma) or a CAI. You might be able to squeeze out 20 some more hp.

engine/supercharger

you're totally right panda, the previas engine is totally unique and different from the mr2......just check out the long intake manifold on the previa's...its LONG...it somewhat aids in the air compression

btw, the supercharger on the mr2 is an eaton ROOTs SC12 and the previa's got an eaton roots SC14, and some differnt sized/ribbed magnetic clutch pulley... i forgot the displacement specs, but they numbers are significant...

mzar...just stick to the basic upgrades and you'll be fine... and if you do decide to customize your exhaust system to something less restrictive...lemme know how it turns out
