So in doing my typical troll of craigslist I found a 91 alltrac 5-speed for sale in Boise. I'm mildly interested, but it has some engine noise and with 276k I'm a little concerned too. Otherwise seems to be in good mechanical shape.
He posted a video and it seems to run pretty well. At the end of the video (at time ~5:15) he puts the camera next to the engine and you can get a good idea of the ticking it is making at idle. Any ideas what it could be? He threw out a couple ideas ranging from spark plugs to fuel pump to 'lifter' (not sure what that would be).
Another random question... can you put 94 (and newer wipers) on a 91?
He's asking $1900 (down a thousand from what he started at). Seems like a reasonable candidate for my rally mobile, provided the engine isn't about to crap out.
