Previa Door Lock Problems

My Previa door locks actuate intermitently on both front doors. Replaced door lock electronics module and switches with no luck. Passenger door is worse than drivers door, but both won't unlock or open at times even though the door handles (inside and out) work freely.

Please advise> and thank you for helping.

The spring in the door lock assembly may have broken. Look at this picture to see if the spring has broken.

The problem is the power door lock switch which is mounted on the power door lock actuator assembly. It's a small switch, the sizre of a quarter, with three wires. The contact gets corroded and the signal cannot get to the electronic module. As proof, you can lock the doors with the "lock-unlock" switch from the inside of the door. The Dealer is asking $85.00 CDN for a new one. Good luck if you can find a scrap yard one. I would appreciate if anyone could help me find one myself one for the driver's door.

Check the wires where they go through to the door. There is a good chance there is a short where they bend and flex when the door opens and closes. I have had to repair them on my Previa.
