Previa vibrates at idle & while excelerating

I have a 97 Previa that I can feel it vibrating while it's sitting at idle and while excelerating, almost like driving down a gravel road. It was more pronounced, and the rear drive line (the u-joint) had a crack in it, so it was replaced. It still vibrates, just not as bad.

What could I check myself? Any ideas?

My '95 Previa S/C LE also vibrates at idle. When stopped in the drive-thru it usually goes nuts with vibration. My friend thought it might be running on low RPMs. I don't know for sure b/c there is no tachometer--smart. When accelerating, it doesn't vibrate badly except for the fact that most of the engine is under the driver and passenger seats. This is pretty normal, but I can't say why it vibrates while idling.

Check the accessory drive shaft. The rubber part of the joints can crack and cause this.

I believe that the accessory drive shaft and the A/C compressor are the most common mechanical failures for the Previas.

the low rpms do contribute to vibration but if it hasnt stalled yet then its probably not that problem. Not sure how to adjust the idle rpms on a previa tho. You could try to make it a bit higher and see if that helps.
