01 Sequoia Tick

My 01 Sequoia has 50000 miles on it and during cold weather it ticks. The tick does not go away when the engine heats up. Any ideas on what this tick could be? Is very noticable inside the cab.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Does it get louder as the rpms increase?

Yup, sounds like an exhaust leak. Look on the motor where the exhaust manifold bolts to the motor, do you have any broken studs?
Ive got a broken stud on my F-150 and it has that same noise.

That's normal sounds of all Toyota Sequoia & Tundra engine. It's get worse when engine has more miles on it. We debate this "ticking noise" all over Tundra Solutions web-site since 2000. Toyota designs flaws on all model from 2001 - 2004. You're correct the noise went away when the engine warming up. I do have both Tundra 2000 at 98K & Sequoia 2001 at 55k does the same noise.

Cheers!s
