Adding Factory Keyless Entry to 05 Sequoia

I recently purchased a 2005 Sequoia SR5 and both the dealer and I thought the vehicle had keyless entry until they tried to program remotes to it. We found it didnt' have keyless option and the dealer said they would add it once parts arrived in a few days. They have since come back and said they can't install the Toyota Keyless Entry after the fact but offered to install an aftermarket system that locks/unlocks the doors but can't operate the rear glass window.

Can anyone comment on if a genuine Toyota keyless can be added and or speak to the problems of doings such?

I'm looking at Toyota's website about the Sequoia SR5 here, under the Safety tab, and it does indicate the anti-theft and immobilizer as standard equipment. Typically, the anti-theft is an alarm, which should have the keyless entry included. Make sure you are getting the right information and equipment for what you are paying. Some dealers can purposely delete the standard equipment and offer you as an option for you to buy. Hopefully, that's not the case, otherwise, you need to report them to headquarters and the BBB.

I have never sold a Seqouia that didn't come with keyless entry. Some dealers leave the keyfobs in the packet with all the books and manuals, some put them in the car before they are sold. Have them check to see if other seqouias like yours come with it(which I'm like 99.9% sure they do).

Once you have the keyless entry check out this thread to turn your basic alarm into the rs3200 alarm system.

All it is is a glass brakeage sensor and the led light.
You might have to register to read this thread. But I highly suggest you register to read it. It is free to register. If you want access to alot of other cool stuff, consider purchasing the membership to get access to wiring diagrams and hints like this.

This one you should be able to look at without registering.

Hmm

Sounds like they're jerking you around... try a different dealer.
