USA programing of the keyless???

does anybody know how to program a keyless for 99 model??? i bought a blank key from e bay then they give me the instruction
(Insert working master key in ignition, within 15 seconds press acceleration pedal to floor 5 times, within 20 seconds press brake pedal as far as it will go 6 times. Remove master key. Insert new key in ignition but DO NOT TURN. Press acceleration pedal one time adn release. Security lamp on dash will blink for 60-80 seconds. When lamp goes out, key is programmed. Press brake pedal one time to exit programming mode) but it doesn't work. i e mail them back about this then they told me they have never encounter like this problem with their other customers. thank you

I think they ripped you off. The chip is in the key fob, wat does the gas and brake pedal have to do with the key fob?

Yes, it should work

I had the same thing with my Solara. Check out http://www.kantor.com/blog/2005/10/keys.html and see if the instructions match what you got.

That is actually how you program the older style keys, the newer style keys use a scan tool to program them, but i have seen this before. It may take a few times before you get it to work but it does work

Hi,

I am in the same situation as REUEL5 in 2005, I bought a 1998 Landcruiser and it came with only one valet/Sub key so I bought a transponder key on the net with the programing instruction which I'm not able to make it work! I been told that it's because I only have a Valet key and will need a original key to be able to progamme another one ! right??? is theyre any other option? I also have my key code, anybody know if it's possible to order/buy a transponder key with the key code/already cut and programmed?

A+ Claude

the accelerator/brake pedal routine usually do work to program a new transponder (immobilizer) key to particular cars (worked in my 2002 sienna). much like opening/closing doors to program the key fob remote. a little search will provide you with the instructions to program either key fob or transponder key to your particular car.

for the transponder key programming (programmed key will also act as a master key), you will need the master key (with black rubber head). valet key will not work! if you lose all your master keys, tough luck, your ECU needs to be reflashed by the dealer to clear the old master key codes and match a new master key. not sure, but I think, you will lose the valet key programming after the reflash as it has the same code as the old master key.
