USA 1997 Land Cruiser's

Hi Guys

I am a very new to the Toyota maket place ... I am coming from the ford market ... I am a that prefers a diesel , but I seen a friends 1996 landcruiser ...thats a great machine .

He's dose not know much about cars and trucks ... My ford is a total piece of crap ...It's a new superduty thats been back to the dealer over 30 times in the past 3 yrs ...

I also have a dodge with a straight 6 diesel ...thats a great motor in a ok truck ... that thing gets around 27 on the highway ... not bad .

I'm unloading the ford and I would like to go with a 1997 landcruiser or the lexus lx 450 ...

Can anyone give me some insite into those suv's ... I know there a inline 6 motor , what kind of life can you expect out of that engine ... are there any inherant problems to be aware of on those trucks .

Thanks

Greg

my dad has a 1991 fj 80 wiht the inline 6 motor they're excelent motors. if you really want to know a lot about them, go to yahoo groups and search the 3FE group. they know a lot. the only bad thing is that the early years like my dads get terrible mileage unless you do some mods like bigger coil, headers and some other stuff. those things are basicly domestic tanks you can't destroy them if you tried. like most toyotas. that kinda sounds like a ford to crap out after not too long. and like any toyota the engine will last forever or at least 250k miles most likely more especially if you take care of it.
