Toyota in their infinite marketing wisdom never sold a diesel Cruiser in the US.

You can get lots of cool options overseas but not here.

Check the 100 Series forum at www.ih8mud.com.

Looks just like our UZJ100. weighs a few pounds more, many had manual transmissions, Hwy mileage is close to 20mpg- much better than the 4.7 liter. towing capacity is 3500kg, but the 4.7 V8 is rated the same in many markets. Engine is a 4.2L Turbo I6- pretty much bomb-proof. Aside from the 4speed auto it might have had, it corresponds to the current UK (toyota.co.uk) model Amazon, or the top OZ (.com.au) level Land Cruiser.

Yes I am stationed in Europe at the moment and came across what seems like a good deal. Low mileage, almost new 2005 desiel LC executive with all the trimings for 21,000 euros. Was trying to see if it was too good to be true. Next challange would be to find out what I had to change to get it past customs i.e. windshield, exaust. but thanks for the info!

mostly depends on where you plan on registering/titling it. When my folks took a US Sidekick to Germany, they had to change the windshield and the headlights, but the Diesel will be the biggest obstacle. Check with your Secretary of State or DMV about titling imported vehicles. I'f they don't ask if it's a diesel, don't tell.
