Need help in Bolivia with '94 diesel

I am a missionary living with my family in Bolivia. I have '94 land cruiser with duel fuel tanks. When the fuel switch is on the regular tank (as opposed to the auxiliary tank) the fuel supply is sometimes disrupted. The madding thing is it is intermittent with apparently no rhyme or reason sometimes working months without a problem and then without warning the fuel doesn't flow to the injectors. I have had the entire fuel system cleaned from the tanks to the injectors spending hundreds of dollars without solution! All of the fuel hoses have been replaced as well as the filter assembly. What am I missing? Bolivia is on the verge of civil war and my SUV is my only way out of the country it I need to escape. Shutting down at the wrong time or the wrong place could be disastrous. Need help in Bolivia!

Hope everything is OK with you and your family.

If you haven't solved your issue already, post your question on the Mud board in the 80 Series forum. www.ih8mud.com

Good luck and stay safe.
