Timing belt replacement

Hello all. I'm new to this forum.

I'm looking for the procedure to replace the timing belt on a 2000 LC and any recommendations for what else should be done while I'm in there. It pains me to by the dealer $700 to do this!

thanks,
Renard

Might check out the Tundra, Sequoia and 4Runner forums as these models have used the same engine 2UZFE. Can you find a library stocking Motor, Chilton’s or other repair manuals? Keep in mind the engine is interference, if the timing belt breaks damage can occur.

If you don’t want to DIY find a non-dealer shop as parts and labor will be much less.

Yeah, I did some searches accross the other forums and didn't find much. I'll try to track down a Chilton book for the basics.

thanks

I have a 1995 LC, has any one heard of replacing the timing chain on these? If so, how do you tell if and when they go bad? Need advice in Phoenix, AZ

Thanks
