89 Landcruiser

Hi all,

I have an 89 land cruiser. It is shooting oil out of the head right above the #6 spark plug and right below the valve cover gasket. The hole is about a 1/4 inch and I am sure it is suppose to be there. I can't for the life of me figure out what is suppose to go in it. If could just see a pic of somebody else's 89 L.C. engine back by the fire wall on the spark plug side of an in line 6, that would help a lot, or if someone has some advice for me that would be great.

Hi!

All that goes there is a plug. No one really seems to know what the purpose of the plug/hole is.

Check out the www.ih8mud.com board. There are lots of threads, some with pictures.

Here is one to start with; http://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series...head-plug.html.

They call it a "Galley Plug". Most people tap the hole and thread a bolt with JB Weld on it in it's place.

If you are out wheeling and it blows, you are screwed! Most people realize it blew out when their engine seizes up.

Good that you found it before that happened!!!

Good luck!

Bill
