HJ80 24 valve diesel oil pressure.

Hi all,
This is my first post to test the water.

I went to look at a 24 valve 1995 diesel cruiser this morning. The first thing I noticed when I started the engine was the oil pressure gauge. The needle was pointing below the first mark at idle.
As my user name suggests I used to work for Toyota as a mechanic in Australia and in the UK, but this was nearly six years ago so my memory is fading somewhat.
I don't remember the oil pressure being that low on idle. Can anyone confirm this?
