2001 cruiser seems to want to but will not crank. the starter is turning and everything sounds ok, but i blve that the gas is not igniting. also don't smell gas like it's flooded. almost like a vapor lock. i lossened and retirghted the fuel cap. the book says there is a emergency fuel pump shut off, but i don;t think this is the case. thank you lewis

ended up getting the car towed. I would have sworn it would be a fuel filter or something to do with fuel pickup, but it was a loose/ dirty wire attachment on the positive battery connection. last thing i would have looked for since it was turning over and getting power to everything else.
Just posting to help someone else out. Check the wiring below the fuse box on the psoitive battery terminal. hope this saves somebody some $$$.
