I have a 97 landcruiser with 150k miles. Looks like the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced. How difficult will this be? Looks like a lot of stuff to disconnect to get it off. Can someone give me some advice - DIY or take it to the shop? Any special tools required?

No special tools required / you will need to partially remove the throttle body and the EGR with its vaccum lines. This is the most difficult part of the process. While you are at it, also change the sparkplugs, sparkplug cables and the distributor O ring. This is a maintenance Job that you can do it by your self in around 2-3 hours.
