HELP! 99 Land Cruiser - Center Console

99 Land Cruiser, US - FJ-100 the center console cup holder cover door has become disconnected. Looks like the flip hinge / bar bracket mechanism was riveted on. In order to rivet back on, looks like I need to take off the hinge / bracket.............in order to get the hinge / bracket off, I assume that I need to remove the console. The Haynes manual does not cover this and any advice, help, photos, diagrams are appreciated. / Rolf.

grab the outer sides of the cup holder, pull towards the sunroof and forward slowly. its just 6 pressure clips holding it in. the cup holder itself is held on by 3 screws. you will have to remove the hole plastic console (fake wood). watch for the heated seat cables and the PWR/2ND START cables. they each have a different socket type, so no need to mark them. make sure you dont let the little metal clips fall off the tabs, i lost one of mine and wont snap in. still seats flush, just doesnt snap in.

hope that helps
