FZJ80 - quick help needed please

1997 land cruiser... have been babied so far... 120k miles


When vehicle is driven normally.. a little humming sound from wheels (new tires)
Not very loud

When vehicle is lifted and put in D (drive) and wheels move free.. and no pressure on suspension... clicking sound (very loud) from the front left wheel from inside the wheel somewhere...

Dealer charging $700 to take front wheel assembly apart to look at and then find out what parts are needed?

All looks ok from outside.. What the hell ??!!!

Can i continue driving like this?
Is it something dangerous?

I have told him to wait 30 mins so I can decide..

The car is driving fine other wise... I just took it in for some humming sound..

Taking car on 30 hour drive (one way) - 60 HRS total ---- to and then back from Mount Rushmore.. starting next weekend

Well too late... I had them take it apart...

It needs front axles (inner/outer) .. bushings, bearings changed both sides.

$2285.

I have told them to go for it... I will just dedicate my month's pay check to VERLIN at the Toyota dealer.

.................. so essentially.. Im gonna have a whole brand new front suspension..

.......... FUCK ME!!!!

Ouch!!

Make sure the tech that's doing it has a few 80 Birf jobs under his belt....

These jobs are usully best done by shops that do them on a regular basis.

I know of someone that had his done at a dealer only to find out months later that they never filled the birf cavities with grease

Toyota dealer did it..

After my 1700 mile trip.. I am hearing some other noises now.. see other thread.
