Land Cruiser not changing shape for 2006 in USA

Well, we know about the FJ cruiser. That is a different story.

The big 5 door LC continues to come to USA for the next year despite the rumors that it will discontinue. Its shape changed for the rest of the world in 05 and I was HOPING THAT USA WOULD SEE IT by 06 but it is not going to happen.

I was reading "TOYOTA TODAY" at a Toyota dealership YESTERDAY and according to it, the LC will come with different/changed rear lights and the dash will change a little for the model year 2006.

Toyota may be making 2006 last year for LC in USA so there was no point in introducing the new shape or spend so much in importing or modifying the latest shape for the US standards.

How far off am I?

Toyota would be as dumb as GM if they got rid of the Land Cruiser.

No. No... !

Land Cruiser is too popular around the world for that to happen.

It is my BELOVED US CONTINENT that stops getting my favourite cars... i.e..stick shift 4Runners, stickshift Land Cruisers, Toyota Corona....

Nope =(. And not even any of the Scions (okok, so the xA aka Ist is the Echo HB's cousin but what abt the xB and tC?). I swear they're gonna import the tC as the next "Celica".

This post maybe alil old, but i wanna correct it. First off, there isn't a redesigned LandCruiser anywhere in the world. Toyotas plans arent to discontinue the LandCruiser, but it shall be redesigned and discontinue its very expensive cousin, the LX470. The LX will be replaced by a luxurious verion of the redesigned Toyota Sequoia. Why? Because with a bigger competing luxury SUV, Lexus can compete better in the full size competition. Although I did drive a few Sequoia limiteds and i like how they feel, but that dash has got to go. Looks like a Ford dash using Toyota quality.

Cadillac Escalade
Lincoln Navigator
Infinitis version of the Armada
I think the redesigned Mercedes G wagon is gonna grow up too. So as you can see, the LX is smaller than the competition, although Lexus uses excellent materials and thoughtful interior desig which gives the driver a wonderful experience. So Lexus wants to spread that luxurious feel throughout the cabin, including the 3rd row seats.
