FJ Review

Here's a decent review of the FJ...

I guess it'll be mid $30's in Canada for a 4x4, too bad it's not a bit cheaper & with a diesel.

16/19 mpg with a 6 speed? Ew. The Nissan Xterra still sounds better, especially with a 19950 starting price with 265 hp and 285 ft lbs of torque, though Nissan doesn't follow the new horsepower measurements yet. Can't wait to hear more bout the FJ though.

The Tacoma pickup it's based off of gets similar gas mileage with the same engine/trans, with only a 1 mpg improvement on the highway (16/20 mpg for the 4X4 DC Taco short-bed V6/6-speed).

So considering the FJ looks to have slightly worse aerodynamics (probably due to the roof rack), 16/19 mpg isn't too far out of line. It is a truck based vehicle after all!

Just my 2 Lincolns...

yeah, I think overall, when you're talking truck or SUV, fuel economy is just a bonus...it really isnt the focus of any car manufacturer to make a capable/rugged suv or truck that has the fuel efficiency of a Corolla. Can't have both, man..
