My question is, Will the 3rd member in the front swap out with the one in the rear?

old toyota ownermechanic, celicas and corollas
neighbor has a 72 cruiser
trying to get it up and running

electrical problem

intermittant start, all mechanical ok

1st question

does this model have alt. regulator ?

can the alt. guage cause this problem ?

power from batt main white wire at fuse panel

power at alt guage, power at alt.

the one time key started motor and it ran batt read 12.5 volts

is alt charging? should be higher volts. recently replaced alt.

something is causing weird voltage measurements.

cannot connect red/black wire (12 volts) at ign switch to black/white wire at ig switch and get
starter to turn. i.e. cannot HOTWIRE IT.

no voltage to coil due to this.

can hotwire coil and starter and get engine to run. just not thru ignition switch.

this is electrical so appreciate anyone who isn't sure from contributing answers.

nuetral safety switch, alt reg, alt gauge ?

when i join red/black (tied to alt w/b) and black/white (starter) ign wires red/black loses voltage reading

12 volts to nothing !

got me head scratchin !

thanks!
