What do you guys think they would do to me on trade?

Hey guys. I own a '05 Tacoma V6 SR5 4x4 Acces cab (black) TRD Sport truck. I've got a bunch of mods on it too like TRD seat covers, rubber floor mats, door sill protectors, stainless exhaust tip, nerf bars and bull bar.

I'm considering going to the dealership and driving a FJ and seeing what they offer me. The Tacoma has 14K miles and is in excellent condition, with the exception of a scratch or two. Do you think I'd pretty much be guaranteed to go backwards money wisein a 4x4 V6 FJ? I paid $6000 down for that truck and currently have about $18,200 left to finance for about 5 years and 8 months or so. At the interest rate I have it's about $313/mo. Just wondering if you guys thought I'd be pretty much guaranteed to be going in the wrong direction or if I could stay about where I'm at.

Unless you know someone at the dealership, you will probably not get a great deal. The FJ's around here are going for OVER the sticker price. The dealer's have no incentive to give a great deal on your trade or to give you a great price on the FJ.

My suggestion is to wait a year, take care of your truck and wait for the hype to die down. If gea prices keep going up, the market for the FJ will cool off.

you'll get ripped. we havent had any FJ's here for weeks... only one used one on the lot. wait til they get flooded with them.
