color code confusion (which is it?)

I need touchup paint for my 2007 FJ Cruiser. It is the Voodoo Blue Metallic Clearcoat. The confusing thing about this is that color code the Voodoo Blue is 8T6 according to paintscratch.com and the Toyota dealership.

On the inside information panel on the drivers side door, the code reads CRT:2JV, which is color Blue Metallic Clearcoat. That color doesn't exists on the Toyota website, but it is on the information panel on the vehicle.

Could someone help to confirm that the Voodoo blue is 8T6 and not 2JV or any other insight would be very helpful.

2JV is the offical color code for your FJ. All of them start with a 2J and the last letter is the main color of your FJ

Actually, not all Toyota paint codes start with 2J. You can find your paint code by VIN...I can check it for you if you like when I go back to work on Monday, just let me know. I know it is on the door also, but there are a couple of different codes on there. I order probably 10 paint pens a day, and 8T6 sounds more like a paint code. The Toyota part number for that paint code (in Canada) would be C0355-008T6, if that helps you in any way with checking a Toyota part number. Let me know if you would like me to check it for you, it wouldn't be a problem at all.

I don't have an FJ but I do have one of the brochures on the 2007 FJ Cruiser. On the page where it shows the colours, it has 2JV (8T6) Voodoo Blue under the colour picture. This would seem to indicate that both codes are the same. I know that here in Canada you can get a colour pen for the Toyota vehicles. One end has the paint and the other is the clearcoat. I automatically picked one up for the '02 Highlander i had and for the '06 that I have now....just in case! Hope this helps.

The color code 8T6 is correct for Voodoo Blue
The color code of 2JV refers to the two tones used:
8T6 for blue and 058 for white

it seems that All two tone vehicles are given a "2J..." code
