i would wait for the model year end clearance deally at the end of the year because they are probably going to be cheaper especially if there are a lot of them. or the end of the month because they might not have thier quota and want to sell sell sell to get it. my dad got an 89 2WD pickup a long time ago. by doing this. he went to the stealership and it was only a few years old and he got it basicly for half price. i think we've got a few cars like that. that is the way i would by a car from a stealership.

I thought the current model offered was the '07. I know that there is a limited number of the FJs being sold this year (4000 here in Canada, don't know how many in the States) so you may not want to wait for too long if you want a specific model/color. I ordered mine in mid-April and won't get it until the end of September.

I don't anticipate there to be too many problems mechanically because all of the parts and systems have been taken from the 4Runner and the Tacoma which have both been around forever and are both solid, reliable vehicles.

My brother in law picked up his new Tacoma on Friday and I am so jealous, I can't wait for my FJ to come. It's going to kick ass!!

According to Toyota sources. They are working on a convertable version (no release date yet), and have a soon to be released special edition off-road model coming out, it's been designed with the help of BF Goodrich and is said to add beefier shocks and tires, new wheels along with a few more colours like Tan and Red plus a few special features not revealed yet. That's what I'd be waiting for. This was published in last months Toyota 4wd Owners Mag.

According to Petersen's 4-Wheel magazine from last month (or maybe it was two months ago) the convertible FJ probably won't happen anytime soon because of structural issues. Once you take the top off the FJ you're left with 5 feet of dead space and the core stability would be missing. They'll have to do some redesigning before the top comes off.

I just read in the Wall Street Journal that Toyota is raising the price of the FJ Cruiser by $200 or 0.9% for 2007 (presumably around September since the FJ is already a 2007 model).

2007

The FJ is new for 2007. Total production for the 2007 model year is going to be 40,000. There is a price increase on the way for FJ models on the boat after Sept 5th or 6th, about $200 so no big deal. In the Pacific NW the current wait time is about 45-60 days. Some dealers are MSRP and some more. I paid MSRP and I am sure that I could have shopped and saved $100, or $500, or even $2,000, but I did not want to go from dealer to dealer, waste time etc. I have had mine for over two months and to me there is nothing that compares for on-road or off-road.

Canada 07 Fj

I got mine on 8/4 and it is a 2007 model. No need to wait. Doubt if there will be any clearances as shipments are limited. Made in Tokyo... I lucked out and got mine within 2 weeks otherwise wait would be 3 months. The price on the FJ will go up for sure next year as the demand is high.

The RAV4 for North America will be made in Canada starting in 2008..wonder where they might build the FJ in the future. The Rav4 plant currently being built is huge.
