VIBES/SHUDDER from lift

Hello everybody,

Im interested if any of you with a lift of 3'' or more have driveline issues ? I have a 2007 tacoma trd offroad 4x4 and was looking to get a lift, now all i hear is driveline issues with a simple 3'' toytec to a 6'' fab tech or procomp lift... i got my truck hopeing to be able to lift it... now i might trade it for a fj so does anyone have issues ???? the fj sits higher than the trd offroad tacoma ????

Thanks !!!

have you looked into a one piece drive shaft? seems to eliminate the issue pretty effectively.

Anytime you mess with the geometry of the suspension you need to get an alignment done to it. Have you done that yet?

6shooter come on now, this one piece IE: TW driveshaft dosent fix anything really ( TW DRIVESHAFT IM NOT KNOCKING ITS A QUALITY SHAFT), it may go away alittle. I have driven SMEbay truck, and read all the posts on this topic..... the prob is not going away. I love my truck to death !!! but i want no issues and if the FJ does this then i might get rid of the taco. I just wanna clad buster over things ha haa. I dont have the money to go replacing 1G-3G parts caused by a lift.

6shooter whos truck is the oldest (milage) with this probleam, ur truck is SWEET looking... Cant remember if you have the same issue since you have the REV-Tech ??? THANKS BUD !!

Thanks FJ peeps !!!

Im not trying to make this a tacoma post over here in the FJ section... but too ur question, I have not lifted my truck yet do to all the hype of this issue rather it be the toytec or fab-tech and the issue is not getting resolved !!

i just wanted to know if the FJ's have the same issue since the wheelbase and other factors are more geared to be a offroad vech....?

Thanks !!

i have upwards of 3" of lift in the back (not the revtek 1.5" blocks) and it was pretty pronounced.
i dropped my carrier bearing down a little bit and it really improved it. it's not enough to bother me, i've actually kind of learned how to drive it so that it doesn't do it hardly at all. i don't know, it's just one of those things you run in to when you lift a vehicle, although i understand the frustration and none of my previous generation toyota trucks have ever really had this issue like the 05+ seems to.
i've driven trucks with a similar driveline to the TW and i must say, i really didn't notice the vibe. it really seems to affect every truck in a different way though. for me, i'm ok with mine the way it is.
if you end up with an FJ, you should really like it-they're sweet to drive. i haven't noticed any driveline vibes with lifted ones i've driven, others that actually own one may have different experiences though.
good luck.
