Toyota’s Roof Garden subsidiary has developed a Cherry Sage shrub derivative that’s bioengineered to better absorb airborne pollutants. The Kirsch Pink plant can absorb air pollutants about 1.3x more effectively than its parent plant. Toyota began doing research in the agricultural biotechnology field in 1998 and has since incorporated technologies like bioplastics in its new vehicles.
