I was surprised that Toyota sold almost twice as many 4x2 Tacomas as they did 4x4s.

Might have to do with gas prices. Tacoma =BEST selling compact truck.

Unless you get a regular cab, the milage is pretty much the same regardless of its a 4x4 or 4x2.
I thought the Tacoma was a midsize, not a compact? :dunno:
The Ford Ranger is still the best-selling compact because its one of the only ones on the market. :nana:

Why?

Unless you get the base Tacoma, it is a rather large truck.

A shitload of people in my area have 4x2s. I have 4x4.

Even the 4x2 reg cabs are huge compared to the older Tacomas. I swear, if you park an '05 Tacoma and '05 Tundra side by side, its hard to tell the difference untill you get up close to them.
