Ruffrydasean 01-18-2006, 08:56 PM eh.. maybe I need a kick in the nuts.. but that looks like the old one
Tideland Prius 01-18-2006, 10:49 PM It is.. for the obvious lack of pictures of the new one.
Ruffrydasean 01-19-2006, 07:50 AM Just making sure... because thats how the lights of the new LS look sorta... wasn't sure what the hell was goin on...
jhbhatia 01-19-2006, 02:12 PM Feb 8th, just wait and see.....
Lord_Anarchy 01-23-2006, 02:05 AM ES350 baby!!! WOO-hoo!!! :)
CACressida 01-23-2006, 01:07 PM ES350 baby!!! WOO-hoo!!! :)The new ES would have to be really amazing for me to like it. With this current generation ES, I'd take a Camry over it. The thing looks like a huge potato wedge or boat or w/e your creative mind thinks!

No it doesn't

Really? I love the current ES.
Tideland Prius 01-23-2006, 08:00 PM I like the updated version. The original 2002 looked worse than the 02 Camry.
HoboJoe 01-23-2006, 11:46 PM What's wrong with the ES300? I think it looks really classy and sophisticated.
Anyway, the ES350 is gonna kick ass. I can't wait to see it.
Tideland Prius 01-24-2006, 01:10 AM didn't like the outside nor the rosewood-like wood trim. It was waay to red. The updated ES330 with the nice light wood (I usually like dark) mixed with the satin finish works very very well.
Christian87N 01-24-2006, 02:27 AM i know that this is an es350 thread but, just out of curiosity, do any of you guys think that the es350 will give an idea of how the solara will look like since they do look alike?
Tideland Prius 01-24-2006, 02:58 AM so you're saying, since the Camry's lights are now thinner, chances are the ES and Solara could have that? It's possible since the current Camry and Solara both had swept-back headlights
Mac01 01-28-2006, 05:25 PM ES350

Tideland Prius 01-28-2006, 05:37 PM Are you serious?
The back looks like a Kia Magentis (I guess it's called Optra in the states?). The front looks like the new Miata just with an even happier face :)
nodrogkam 01-28-2006, 05:38 PM okay totally liking everywhere but the back.
Bluesman 01-28-2006, 06:25 PM okay totally liking everywhere but the back.
That's the photoshop version that's been floating around this week. It's OK that you don't like the back cause' this isn't the new ES.......
84Cressida 01-28-2006, 06:56 PM That's a chopped IS. The ES is supposed to be all luxury, because the GS has the role of the sporty/luxury midsize sedan.

ok phew
minamyms 01-28-2006, 09:22 PM I think it is the new ES because they said it was going to have a panoramic moonroof and I think it looks pretty and I dont hate it from the back that much execpt that lexus could ve done better with that. i just hope that the interior is good.
minamyms 01-28-2006, 09:27 PM it doesnt look like a photoshop because it seems real or maybe it is a concept . I would get that ( the one shown in the pic above) over a new loaded 2007 camry XLE. I would be basically close in price but that design is better than the camry. I hope that the V6 in the new ES 350 is powerful as the one in the new camry.
Bluesman 01-28-2006, 11:56 PM Trust us dude......It's a chop......
Hey I've got a bridge I'll sell ya'!
minamyms 01-29-2006, 01:09 AM I will believe you for a reason, if you noticed that the picture from the back view doesnt have a black roof but the front view one does, so I think you are right on this one.
91MR2quickNA 01-29-2006, 02:25 AM Total chop. The proportions are all taken from the IS.
The wheelbase of the ES should be 109.3 inches, taken from the new 07 Camry. The back of that chopped ES actually looks more like a 4.5 Gen Camry.
NYLexSC 01-29-2006, 09:06 AM HERE YOU GO GUYS. Official picture of the 2007 ES350! This comes straight from a Lexus magazine that was picked up at a dealer in Florida. The car has a lot of Camry in it, especially the headlights which are almost an exact match. Also the front end has quite a bit of SC430 integrated into it as well. Teaser pics, but thats all there is :)

The glass on the interior is the spiciest new feature :D

From clublexus:
Coming Soon: A New ES.
With all the excitement surrounding the recent introduction of the new LS 460, GS 450h, and IS, one could be forgiven for wondering if other Lexus models—like the ES—have been forgotten. Hardly. In fact, the ES has been completely redesigned as the 2007 ES 350.
Like other redesigned Lexus models, the new ES 350 sports what the chief engineer calls as “confident” new look, thanks in part to a wider stance and wheels repositioned closer to the vehicle’s corners. The ES 350 has a larger wheelbase and a wider track, both of which help enhance the vehicle’s handling and increases the interior space.
Designers also equipped the ES 350 with an array of new Lexus features, such as the keyless SmartAccess system with push-button ignition, the backup camera, Bluetooth® technology that gives drivers hands-free cell phone access (with compatible cell phones), and options such as swivel headlamps that turn with the road and a DVD Navigation System with the latest graphics and points of interest.
Under the hood, a larger 3.5-liter V6 engine, complete with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i) for maximum engine efficiency, produces 275 horsepower—a 50-horsepower increase from the ES 330’s engine. The vehicle also includes a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifting, which improves overall vehicle performance and fuel efficiency.
Enhanced safety features include driver and front passenger knee airbags, a direct-type tire pressure monitor, and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control. Plus, options abound--leather seats equipped with the Lexus Memory System, a glass roof, a power rear sunshade, and heated and ventilated front seats. (Most of these items will be included in a new ultra luxury package). Look for the 2007 ES 350 to arrive in dealerships this spring.
drewski59 01-29-2006, 02:44 PM Yay!
Too bad that teaser pick seems to show that it will have the same ugly back end as the first pic!! Ewww....
But the luxury + 275hp(hopefully at the rear wheels) will kick some a%#!!!
minamyms 01-29-2006, 02:52 PM At last then new lexus ES. I think It looks good and the rear lights too. interior..Better than a mercedes benz and over all of that reliability.
NYLexSC 01-29-2006, 04:47 PM The ES is still built on that Camry platform, so unfortunately the 275 will be at the front wheels.
minamyms 01-29-2006, 05:05 PM i think you are right. I wouldve liked it to be rear wheel drive but unfortunately they cant get near that territory because of the GS and I think that is why lexus have them.
Bluesman 01-29-2006, 05:25 PM Too bad that teaser pick seems to show that it will have the same ugly back end as the first pic!! Ewww....
I think it's way too early to say what the back will look like, that chop photo should NOT be any indication. Those chop photos should never have been put out as fact in the first place.
lexuscutive 01-29-2006, 06:31 PM The photochop shows a close-but-not-correct rear end. The lights angle down, similar to IS style rear lights. There is also a SWEET dual exhaust. The dual roof is also SWEET. What is cool about this new ES is that it has similar GS, IS styling in the front, but there are touches of "ES"-like details, like the headlamps stretch further back then the IS, and sort of "hump" up/outwards like the current model. This is the first ES with the Lexus logo on the grill. Big change. The interior is nice like the new L-Finesse interiors. The mirrors are big just like the IS. I would even say they are the same part. Trunk does not have gas struts. Has available laser cruise like the GS. 6speed auto.
i think you are right. I wouldve liked it to be rear wheel drive but unfortunately they cant get near that territory because of the GS and I think that is why lexus have them.
The true is two top sellers (3rd and 2nd place) ES, Acura TL are FWD. I think AWD are more welcome than RWD. FWD+AWD ES350 will steal alot of sales from Acura TL and RL at the same time.
Maybe also add ES350 SE :)
Bluesman 01-29-2006, 08:09 PM ES350 SE would be redundant....
NYLexSC 01-29-2006, 08:40 PM ES350 SE would be redundant....
LOL yeah, not sure what SE is supposed to mean. ES350 will already be top of the line luxury, unless you mean SE as in an upgraded performance package. IF that's the case, yeah right lol. It sure would be nice if Lexus developed an AMG/M type of branch, but they won't. Too much emphasis on luxury still.
91MR2quickNA 01-29-2006, 09:29 PM The Camry is also capable of 275hp in stock form.
SE = Sport Edition, like Camry SE
Razo-E 02-07-2006, 05:42 AM revealed tomorrow..
cant wait.
AvalonMan96 02-07-2006, 10:31 AM ^ Agreed
Bluesman 02-07-2006, 12:11 PM Here's the site and the live feed for the reveal. Goofy marketing on this one folks!
www.2007es.com (http://www.2007es.com)
vasia 02-07-2006, 01:19 PM Yes, that does seem as sort of odd marketing, yet it's very Japanese. Hmm, what does Lexus aim with such kind of marketing?
