Toyota Motor Corp.'s (TM) Indian subsidiary said Friday it will reopen the locked-out car factory near the southern city of Bangalore, but only for workers that sign a "good conduct undertaking."
The good conduct undertaking required workers to give up their agitation and return to work without precondition, said R. Ravi of the Toyota Kirloskar Motor Employees Union. "It is the management's tactic to break us and we will not accept it."
He said some new employees and trainees may accept the offer, but "99% of our workers will not go back unless our demands are met."
