atobe 01-29-2006, 10:06 PM well i hooked the tweeters i bought from cam2xrunner to my amp and there's this annoying weeeeeeeeeeeeee sound comming out of it when the RPM goes higher it gets louder... i had my sub hooked up to the amp and it was working fine no weird noises or anything it's a 4 channel amp running in 4 channel mode cep nothing was hoooked up to the 2 of the channel now i hook the tweeters to it it makes that sound... what's going on !!!! i'm confused
Kevpalf 01-29-2006, 10:13 PM are you runing your power wire next to your RCAs
if so that may be the problem
i had the same sound but never moved my RCAs to test it before i tolk my system out
but i was told that is what makes that sound
cam2Xrunner 01-29-2006, 10:23 PM ^That could be one reason for it. Also try grounding your amp to the same grounding spot as the sub amp. Another place to check is the Headunit ground. You might want to try grounding the headunit chassis and wiring that to the same grounding point as the amps too.
atobe 01-29-2006, 10:33 PM it's a 4 channel amp it was grounded to somewhere in the trunk but i'll try moving it around to a better spot for grounding... left side of the car has the power, rear RCA running to the amp..right side has RCA for the tweeters running along with the wires for the tweeters so may be that's it but i'll try some better ground wires
Delay_FTB 01-30-2006, 03:52 PM I'd be willing to place money on it being a grounding issue.
However, if it actually is something with the RCA or wiring in any way, try re-wiring, or upgradingot shielded RCAs or twisted speaker wire. I have my wires running every which way criss crossing, etc... and no whine or extra noise what so ever.
lucanhookup 01-30-2006, 06:12 PM i get that too. I'm moving My amps up so imma fix the big mess of wires that i had and i hope that fixes that weeeeee noise.....
thoughthard 01-30-2006, 07:13 PM Use factory grounds.
RedPhoenix 01-30-2006, 08:19 PM what headunit? pioneers are known for alternator whine. i had to open mine and solder new connections to fix it.
Kevpalf 01-31-2006, 05:01 PM I have a pioneer headunit what connections did you have to replace?
atobe 01-31-2006, 10:10 PM yeah it's a pioneer DEH-4600MP .. i'm gonna try a bigger ground to amp first, then better RCA since i bought that one for about 2$
atobe 02-01-2006, 12:14 AM hmmmm weird re-did the ground with 0 guage and it still has it hmmmm
girchygirchy 02-01-2006, 05:21 PM I'd rewire it so that ALL power wire (including remote turn on) is on one side, and the signal cables (RCAs and speaker wires) are on the other. I've done testing on my noisy stereo, and even the remote turn on wire can introduce noise into the system.
lucanhookup 02-01-2006, 08:18 PM hmmmm weird re-did the ground with 0 guage and it still has it hmmmm
did you check to see that the rca's arent touching power wire anywhere?
Kevpalf 02-02-2006, 04:03 PM is that what i said in the furst place make sure your RCA's are not neer any power wires
atobe 02-03-2006, 12:55 AM will re-route wires this weekend move RCA to one side and speaker to other side
Kevpalf 02-03-2006, 04:40 PM let us know how it goes
dna59 02-03-2006, 08:30 PM I had this problem w/ the audio from my video system i had installed in my eclipse, never found out what it was.
atobe 02-04-2006, 12:54 AM oh is it safe to run the speaker wires with the power cable then ??
i'll move my rca to one side and speaker wire to the other along with the power cable
cam2Xrunner 02-04-2006, 01:29 AM It's most likely your grounding points. But definitely run the power wire on the left side and the RCA's on the right.
atobe 02-06-2006, 11:25 AM i forgot and drank on superbowl next weekend i'll work on it. i did however bought some 4 gauge wires to redo the grounds in the engine bay too. may be that'll help out a lil bit also we'll see
RedPhoenix 02-13-2006, 08:36 PM okay i fixed my headunit. Its the rca's ground in the headunit thats fuxored. Its extremely sensitive. I had to take the top plate off the headunit and solder a wire to the ground (out ring on the rca) on the inside of the headunit and ground it else where. Got rid of the whine sound. You could bandaid it like i did before but wrapping wire on the rca cable and ground it, but doesnt work that well.
atobe 02-19-2006, 08:19 PM ok i fixed it turned out to be a lose acc wire to wire connection that turns on the HU.. the weeee sound is still there but it's barely noticeable.. i'll try re-grounding the HU directly to the car instead of using the harness's ground wire, who knows where that goes
