hello
this is my first thread in this forum
since i'm form the Middle East, from Qatar, Qatar is the most country that sells Land Cruiser
I'd like to give you the specs and engines of the Land Cruiser we got over there

TLC G series: 4.5 • Engine - 221hp/4600 rpm
• Torque – 39.5kg - m/3600 rpm (SAE net), argent bumpers. about $30,000

TLC GX: same engine as the G but has 2 AC's, one in the front seats and in the 2nd & 3rd rows. argent bumpers about $35,000-39,000

TLC GX-R: same engine as the G, GX has 2 ac's, cd player and some other accesories like painted bumpers. about $42,000- $47,000

TLC VX-R: it is the most near to the ones in the US, 4.7 L, 228 hp. about $50,000+

all these models could come with either manual transmiisoins or automatics. the most sold model is the GX becaus eof the specifications that young drivers need, most guys in Qatar buy these SUV's to drive on sand dunes. some kind of desert tires are put on the vehicle with custom 16 wheels or the factory wheels. if manual tranny wouldnt be sold here, i am sure Toyota will lose in Qatar.

Thank you

Is that mean, always the engine power of all toyota cars is presented in technical data sheets in SAE not in DIN?
I'm interested particularly with Land Cruiser?

Marhabba!
That is true for all of middle east.
When wadhi-bashing (dune-bashing) you need to go with flat sand tires (with pretty much no tread..just thick rubber..and you need to decrease your air pressure as well).

I've not driven in the sand for some time now (7 years), but the concept remains the same!
