RPM Guage Problem [Archive] - Toyota Forums

I have a question and hopefully some one can answer it....Where does the signal come from for such a diesel landcruiser to the RPM guage? It is a Land Cruiser Prado SX 1992 Model:Q-LJ78W-MET. It is EFI(electric fuel injection) has the engine control etc.. Does it possibly originate from the Fuel punp or the alternator or where???I'll tell you why..because i've changed my engine to a 3.0L direct injection toyota motor and now the gauge is not working...
